Fall 'Zuma Zooma Jog-a-thon

On Monday October 12 is our Fall 'Zuma Zooma Jog-a-thon sponsored by the PTA . Students will walk/run with their grade level during their assigned times. Laps will be tallied by our volunteers so each student can track their achievements and collect "per lap" pledges. Families are also invited to participate with their student(s) and collect their own pledges.

We are hoping to raise at least $7500 this year. Students are being asked to get pledges from their family members and friends for their effort running. Money collect should be turned in no later then October 19th.

We need volunteers to help during the Jog-a-thon to distribute water and popsicles and count laps. Please consider volunteering during your student's run time or longer.

Please make sure that your student is dressed appropriately for running or walking. Tennis shoes are a must and students that are in flip-flops or sandals will be asked to walk. Also make sure that you send your student with at least sunscreen. Hats and water bottles are also encouraged.

If you have any questions please contact either Anna Madrid at 262-0705 or  amadrid@cnm.edu, Jessica Goodkind at 280-4391 or jessica.goodkind@gmail.com, or Anita Doornbos at coseven@hotmail.com.

If each student collects $20 in pledges, we will exceed our $7500 goal!

Welcome Students

Montezuma Elementary School Positive Behavior Support

Welcome to a new school year at Montezuma. This year we have implemented a positive behavior system starting on the first day of school. Routines, procedures, and rules to govern relationships are the foundation of a loving, structured environment that all children need to learn and grow.

During the first few days of school all students participated in a school wide assembly and specific lessons that focused on expectations in the different areas around school. Clear expectations are the foundation of the program and essential for success. Students will be rewarded for making good choices and meeting expectations with coupons called "Cougar Paws!" Rewards for cougar paws and assemblies celebrating success will be held on a regular basis.

We appreciate your support of our behavior program. The goal of positive behavior support is to make Montezuma a safe. successful, and comfortable school!

Picking up students before the end of the school day interrupts the instruction for the entire class.  Please avoid picking your child up between 3:00 and 3:38 and between 12:00 and 12:30 on Wednesdays. If you do pick your child up during that time, the office will give you a pass to go to the classroom to get your child, they will not call into classrooms after 3:00 or after 12:00 on Wednesdays.
